Founder / Head Coach - 10u, 12u, 14u

Bryan Smith is the founder of Orlando Baseball Prospects (OBP), a youth travel baseball organization built on a clear mission: to develop young athletes the right way. OBP prioritizes long-term player health, strong character development, and leadership both on and off the field—focusing on building not just great players, but great young men.

A former standout at Duke University, Bryan was a four-year starter and two-time team captain. He led the Blue Devils in multiple offensive categories across consecutive seasons and was named MVP of the prestigious Valley League All-Star Game. Despite a promising career, mounting injuries brought his dream of playing professional baseball to an end.

But the story didn’t stop there. With the birth of his three sons and their growing love for the game, Bryan’s passion was reignited. That spark led to the vision for OBP–a program focused on teaching the game the right way, fostering discipline, and developing leadership through baseball.

Baseball runs deep in Bryan’s family. His father, Mike Smith, is the all-time winningest high school baseball coach in Central Florida history. With three state championships and a national title to his name, Coach Smith mentored a dozen future MLB players—including Jason Varitek, Rickie Weeks, Jemile Weeks, Felipe Lopez, Nick Franklin and Johnny Venters.

Through OBP, Bryan carries forward that legacy—combining elite instruction with integrity, mentorship, and a commitment to the next generation of ballplayers.
